Are you having trouble finding work? Do certain obstacles get in your way when looking for a job? Does a career in the restaurant and hospitality business sound interesting?
The Learning Kitchen might be right for you. It's a 16-week training program that prepares students with all the skills needed for a job in the food service industry. Three times a year, the program accepts 10 students referred through employment support programs.
You will learn cooking methods from a professional chef, as well as basic meal preparation, food safety and sanitation and nutrition. You will also learn important life skills to help you succeed.
Almost 80 per cent of students who have completed the program have maintained employment and have found meaning and direction in their own lives.
