FEED NOVA SCOTIA has selected Kraft Canada
as our October Community Partner of the Month
in recognition of the outstanding support they offer through their annual Kraft Hunger Challenge.
The Kraft Hunger Challenge began as a two-week campaign in 2002, called "Click with Kraft," in conjunction with the Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto. Due to the success of this program, it was expanded nationally and became the Kraft Hunger Challenge.
The Kraft Hunger Challenge is a matching program held each September to encourage the public to help replenish stocks of food at local food banks, which have become low over the summer months. Kraft Canada has pledged to match all donations made in Nova Scotia between September 4 and September 28, up to a maximum of $15,000.
Families need food on the table year-round, but many people don’t think about donating to the food bank in the summer, which creates stress on our food bank reserves during the busy back-to-school season. According to the Canadian Association of Food Banks’ national survey, each month more than 750,000 Canadians turn to Canada’s Food Banks, including over 300,000 children.
Your generous support helps us carry out our mission to feed hungry people, eliminate chronic hunger and alleviate poverty.
